Vince Flynn

Vince Flynn

Vincent Joseph Flynn was an American author of political thriller novels based on the fictional assassin Mitch Rapp. He was also a story consultant for the fifth season of the television series 24. He was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1966 and graduated from the St. Thomas Academy in 1984, and the University of St. Thomas with a degree in economics in 1988. To overcome the difficulties of dyslexia, Flynn forced himself into a daily writing and reading routine. His newfound love for novels inspired him to write one of his own. Five years and more than sixty rejection letters later he took the daring step of self-publishing his first novel Term Limit. The book went to number one in the Twin Cities, and within a week had a new agent and two-book deal with Pocket Books, a Simon & Schuster imprint. Flynn lived with his wife, Lysa, and their three children in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis-St. Paul) area. He died on June 19, 2013, after three years with prostate cancer.
